I began developing a Macintosh-native contest logger for myself when I retired in 2006. Prior to that, my contesting efforts relied on CT by K1EA, which of course has heavily influenced SkookumLogger. However, SkookumLogger does not mimic the appearance or behavior of any of the current popular Windows-based contest loggers, except by accident.
The first public release of SkookumLogger happened in early 2009. Since then, Jonathan, GØDVJ, Katsuhiro (Don), JH5GHM, Dave, WD7K, and Marty, N9SE, have been important contributors to the project. Bob, WA1Z, and Bud, W2RU, have also provide invaluable assistance, reporting misfeatures with essential steps-to-reproduce. If you would like to help, contact me. The current Xcode project is available to anyone; you will need to be skilled with Objective-C and Cocoa.
The present version has users ranging from new-to-contesting and/or new-to-Macintosh, to world-class contesters including World Radiosport Team Championship (WRTC) participants. The feature set has been driven by my own interests, and by reasonable requests from those users. Here are a few examples of requests that are not reasonable:
